Salamis Ruins - a little bit of Historical Treasure
An ancient site surrounded by legends and mysteries, excavations show that the ancient city's history dates back to the 11th century BC. Salamis was once the most powerful cities of the Mediterranean. Several kingdoms ruled here amongst others, Assyrians, Greeks, Egyptians,
Persians and Romans have ruled the city. Take a long look at the breath-taking amphitheater before you leave and don't forget to take a picture! Archaeological finds are at the museum at St. Barnabas Monastery a few kilometers from Salamis. Outside the area there is both a restaurant and picnic area. Also visit St. Barnabas monastery and ruins of Enkomi when you are in the area.

Kyrenia [ Girne ] City
Kyrenia (Girne) is a city on the north coast of Cyprus, known for its cobblestoned old town and horseshoe-shaped harbor. The ancient Kyrenia Castle is a large fortification with a dungeon accessible by a stone bridge. The castle houses the Shipwreck Museum, with a shipwreck from the 3rd century B.C. The nearby Icon Museum displays religious icons inside the restored Greek Orthodox Archangelos Michael Church.
